Exhaust gasses need to freely exit an engine to allow it to generate maximum power. Specialist exhaust systems can be added to improve an engines performance. Modifications include water cooled manifolds, wet manifolds, risers, elbows, headers and heat exchangers. Low sound levels may be required for environmental compliance or for tactical reasons.
