Kirby Marine uses expertise in the structural, architectural and marine fabrication of aluminium to construct customised commercial RIBs. A manufacturing arrangement with Naiad (NZ) adds the Naiad range of Rigid Inflatable Boats to their design portfolio. Kirby Marine Fabrication continually strives to develop new designs and manufacturing methods, resulting in high levels of quality and innovation.
Kirby Marine Fabrication's custom-designed and built marine vessels are used around the world. Each patrol vessel is designed and built to rigid specifications depending upon its intended use. It is essential that rescue vessels are safer and stronger than the craft they are rescuing. These search & rescue craft are designed to manage harsh conditions with the ability to travel fast and direct to the casualty.
A typically versatile craft is the Kirby Marine 8.5 metre RIB. With a towing weight that is suitable for a standard four wheel drive vehicle there is a choice between making the trip by land or sea. The hull has significant reinforcing protecting its 23 degree deadrise bottom and has soft riding qualities at sea.
The large wheelhouse has become close to standard design for government patrol RIBs to protect the crew and a complex suite of electronics from the elements. Besides electronic navigation equipment, onboard computers can be linked with communications and various information systems.
