Specialised Inflatable Technology (SIT) manufacture inflatable tubes, collars and sponsons for OEM RIB manufacturers and boat builders worldwide. All products are manufactured to design specifications using Hypalon fabrics by Pennel Filipo in normal grade 1100 D/Tex or heavy duty 1650 D/Tex. SIT offer design guidance for new builds of RIBs and training for installers. Boat builders can be supplied with a fitting kit or collars can be fitted at the ISO9001 approved factory.
SIT has developed composite systems for RIB collars to enhance puncture resistance and enable craft to remain operational if the air chamber is breached. Materials are SOLAS approved and designs can be tailored to suit individual requirements. The inner bladder is protected from external punctures by 40 or 80mm (1.5” or 3”) low-density foam. The tube maintains shape even if stabbed or shot. The outer cover is Hypalon coated fabric providing oil, UV and abrasion resistance.
The SIT foam fendering system for RIBs and boats is strong and lightweight. Weight saving enables operators to carry a greater payload within the craft. The foam system has all the characteristics of a fender including resilience, abrasion resistance and durability. The foam can be machined on a 5 axis CNC router to achieve complex shapes and ensure the specified profile.
SIT manufacture Self-righting Bags to any specification and supply all ancillary valves, bottles and firing systems. SIT can design systems that require specialist knowledge to achieve specific product performance. Calculations are required to specify the bag dimensions and volume of CO2 required to achieve self righting. SIT offer annual inspection for self-righting bags and CO2 bottles.
