Seakeeper Active Gyro Stabilization System has actively stabilized vessels between 11 and 65 metres (35 and 215 feet) with two models - the M8000 and the M26000. It is a complete internal stabilization system that works equally well at zero-speed or at anchor and also while underway. For larger vessels, multiple units can be installed to achieve the desired stability characteristics or larger Seakeeper gyros can be utilized.
Employing the principles of gyro-dynamics, Seakeeper vacuum-sealed gyro stabilizers exert a powerful righting torque that virtually eliminates boat roll without any need for drag-producing appendages from the hull. Seakeeper's unique state-of-the-art motion control system actively regulates the hydraulic braking system to ensure the anti-roll torque is maximized for all hull designs and for constantly changing operating and sea conditions.
Seakeeper Gyro is a stability control solution that is effective over a wide range of sea states, reducing crew fatigue, expanding the operational envelope and facilitating everything from the discharge of weapons to the enhanced use of high-tech equipment and electronics. Benefits include safety for crew and equipment onboard the vessel, increased fuel efficiency and the internal installation minimizes external noise.
The Gyro is a torque device and therefore does not have to be installed at a specific forward or aft location or on the centre line. There is no loss of performance at top end because the Seakeeper Gyro Stabilization System has no through-hull protrusions or appendages. A keypad and display unit are provided to start, operate, monitor and shutdown the Seakeeper gyro.
