Tampa Yacht Manufacturing Tempest 36-RHIB is an open deck patrol-class vessel. The 36-RHIB brings commercial-grade design and engineering to meet the demanding needs of military and law enforcement operators. Designed for littoral operations in varying sea and weather conditions, the 36-RHIB combines a conventional Deep V planning hull with a self-fendering air / foam hybrid collar by Wing. The durable, foam core collar will not deflate when punctured and offers permanent extra buoyancy.
The 36-RHIB utilises the high-speed Tempest hull design, proven by years of customs and coast guard operations, combined with Tampa Yacht Manufacturing experience of military craft requirements, engineering, construction and quality assurance. The craft is built to ‘RINA-MIL Fast Patrol Vessels’ class using carbon-fibre reinforcement in high-stress hull areas and full composite construction throughout. The optimized fiberglass laminate and bulkheads offer a number of advantages including a double reinforced keel for beaching and landing.
The 36-RHIB couples fuel-efficient Yanmar diesel engines with UltraJet water-jet propulsion to create a rugged and versatile vessel with shallow-draft capabilities, capable of speeds over 35 knots. Electro- hydraulic throttle, steering, and bucket deliver smooth performance and instantaneous control. QL interceptor tabs provide quick response for list and trim control. Full engine access is via removable hatches. Larger engine packages are available from Cummins, Yanmar and FPT.
Bolster seating is provided for the 2 crew and 10 passengers, who are ballistic protected to NIJ Level III standards in the cabin sides and collar. Optional crew served weapons mounts facilitate armament if required. Options include NVIS compatible lighting and night vision camera. The 36-RHIB is available with an optional heavy duty trailer for road transport.
